Over the past couple of months 5QU have been investigating food waste at Park Lodge.
5QU collected all their break/lunch waste for 2 weeks. They separated the recyclable food waste from other non recycable waste. The total weight was 6.2kg (6kg was recycable food).
From these figures they were able to estimate that each year 2.56 tonnes of food waste is sent home from kids lunches alone.
So what happens to the food when it gets home? 5QU sent out a family survey to find out what council the families belong to, and what they do with their left over food.
