Celebrating St. Brigid’s Legacy Through Prayer, Song and Art
2nd Feb 2026
Year 6 pupils marked St. Brigid’s Day with a wonderful blend of tradition and creativity. The children carefully made their own St. Brigid’s crosses from strips of coloured paper, learning about the story and symbolism behind the long loved Irish custom. We said thoughtful prayers and sang, ‘We sing a Song to Brigid.’
To celebrate the first day of Spring, they also created beautiful artwork of St. Brigid which brought themes of hope, light and new beginnings. The classroom was bursting with colour, teamwork and a sense of pride in their finished pieces.
