Building Skills, Confidence, and Community through Physical Activity
At Our Lady of Lourdes, we believe that sport and physical education are vital to every child’s development. Our PE curriculum follows the Northern Ireland Curriculum, which promotes physical literacy, health, and wellbeing through a broad and balanced programme.
PE in the Northern Ireland Curriculum
Children participate in a variety of activities including:
- Athletics – running, jumping, and throwing
- Dance – creative movement often linked to music and drama
- Games – developing skills in sending, receiving, and travelling
- Gymnastics – control, balance, and movement
- Swimming – taught at Key Stage 2
