Round of Applause for our Ruby Robin Award Winners

22nd Apr 2026

We are incredibly proud of a group of our dedicated Eco Team pupils who have worked hard to achieve the Ruby Robin Award. This special award recognises young people who show a strong commitment to caring for the environment and taking positive action within their school and local community. To earn this award, the children took part in four different types of challenges, completing at least one activity from each area to show their commitment to learning about and helping songbirds.

Craft and Care Challenge:
Children created or completed a practical activity to help birds, such as making a bird feeder, bird bath, seed bomb or designing a bird friendly garden. These activities encouraged pupils to care for wildlife and understand how we can support birds, especially during difficult seasons.
Pupils learned more about songbirds by completing fact sheets, researching different species, colouring and labelling birds, or exploring bird songs. This helped them build knowledge about the wide variety of birds found in the UK and why they need protecting.

Bird Spot Challenge:
Children spent time outdoors observing nature, carefully watching and listening for birds in their gardens, local parks or neighbourhoods. They recorded the birds they saw using observation sheets, developing their awareness of local wildlife and the importance of spending time in nature.

Fun and Fundraising Challenge:
Pupils completed a fun activity that helped raise awareness for songbird conservation. This could include quizzes, artwork, games, or small fundraising events, giving children a sense of how working together can make a positive difference.

By completing all four challenges, our pupils demonstrated curiosity, care for the environment, and a real commitment to helping protect songbirds. They were rewarded with a Ruby Robin certificate and badge, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.

Well done to our Ruby Robin Award winners for being such fantastic role models—showing that even small actions can have a big impact on our planet!
